We've been giving Pixar a little bit of the business as of late after they decided to churn out multiple sequels for some of their more popular properties instead of creating new, original content. Last year was 'Toy Story 3,' this year is 'Cars 2,' and though 'Monsters Inc. 2' is also in the works, 2012 will see Pixar return to form with a new Scotland-set animated adventure called 'Brave.' Elizabeth Taylor's Charity Legacy

Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor – who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 79 – will be remembered off-camera for her philanthropy, her spirit and her unceasing generosity.

The Oscar-winning actress was an activist for those with AIDS since the virus first appeared in the early 1980s, courting controversy by her support in the face of the stigma attached to AIDS at the time. She was one of the first celebrities to publicly stand up against the disease, fundraising for the first major AIDS benefit ever held – a dinner organized by AIDS Project Los Angeles.

She founded the National AIDS Research Foundation in the early 1980s, and in 1985 she helped found the American Foundation for AIDS Research – better known as amfAR. In February 2011, amfAR honored Taylor at its 25th Anniversary Gala. Although her health prevented her from attending, she sent a message via her good friend and fellow AIDS activist Elton John: “I am there in spirit and I join you in saluting my fellow honorees and all these extraordinary leaders. I am inspired by their example, exhilarated by their vision, and encouraged by their compassion and love. And I love them in return.”

Taylor’s AIDS work saw her address the General Assembly at the United Nations, and she was a huge supporter of Ryan White, the 18-year-old who died of the disease in 1990 after attracting a frenzy of media when he was expelled from his middle school because of the disease, which he contracted from a blood treatment for his hemophilia. At a time when AIDS was poorly understood by the world, Ryan helped reduce stigmas and raise awareness. Her work with Ryan White brought her into contact with one of her best friends, Michael Jackson.

Taylor founded the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in 1991 to focus her efforts directly on those people living with the disease. To date, her Foundation has distributed more than $12 million to AIDS service organizations across the country.

Over the last 20 years, Taylor has worked tirelessly to fundraise and reduce the stigma that surrounds AIDS, and has been honored by a plethora of organizations that recognize her commitment to the cause. She was presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 1993 Oscars, named after screen actor Jean Hersholt, who served as the president of the Motion Picture Relief Fund for 18 years. She was awarded the Marion Anderson Award for her humanitarian work, named after the famous African-American opera singer who fought racial segregation in the 1930s, and earlier this year she was honored by the Women's Image Network. GLAAD has previously awarded Taylor with its Vanguard Award for people who have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community, and her other honors include the French Legion of Honor, the Presidential Citizens Medal and she was also made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Her generosity never ceased – in 2006 donated an AIDS medical unit to the people of New Orleans, and she always featured in annual lists of celebrity giving. In 2009 she made a $100,000 donation to the Alliance for Christian Education, crediting Barack Obama for her inspiration.

Tributes are pouring in following Dame Elizabeth’s passing today, but perhaps Sir Elton John says it best: “We have just lost a Hollywood giant, but more importantly we have lost an incredible human being. Elizabeth Taylor earned her fame with her extraordinary talent as a young actress, making her first movie at the tender age of nine. She earned our adoration for her stunning beauty and for being the very essence of glamorous movie stardom. And she earned our enduring love and respect for her compassion and her courage in standing up and speaking out about AIDS when others preferred to bury their heads in the sand.”

Elizabeth Taylor will be sadly missed, but has left a charity legacy that will last forever.

Early Edition: Summit Nabs 'Alex Cross'; Uni Lines Up Guys for 'Bourne Legacy' Lead; More

He's back and Summit Entertainment has him. James Patterson's Alex Cross, last seen in Paramount's 'Kiss the Girls' and 'Along Came a Spider,' both starring Morgan Freeman, will return to the big screen in 'I, Alex Cross,' a reboot of the series with Tyler Perry as the title character. Ed Burns will play Cross's partner Tommy Kane, and 'Lost's' Matthew Fox will play a psycho serial killer who viciously murders Cross's wife when the detective thwarts one of his attempts to commit a murder. Rob Cohen is directing, with production expected to begin in early August for a fall 2012 or early 2013 release. [Deadline]

Deadline calls this "The Young Male Role to Die For": the lead in 'The Bourne Legacy,' the 'Bourne Identity' spinoff that Tony Gilroy (who wrote all three 'Bourne' films as well as helming 'Michael Clayton') is directing for Universal. Deadline lists the narrowing field of those set to test: Joel Edgerton ('The Thing'), Dominic Cooper ('The Devil's Double'), Garrett Hedlund ('Tron: Legacy') and Luke Evans ('The Amateur American') and speculates on those in the wings (Logan Marshall-Green of TV's 'Dark Blue' and Taylor Kitsch of 'Battleship').

Beverly Hills Fabulous Recap - Episode 1 - Cut Down To Size

This is the hair I dreamed about having when I was 12.

Beverly Hills Fabulous follows the staff of Elgin Hair Salon in Beverly Hills. The team of expert stylists includes:

Elgin, who is the owner, obviously, and a client, obviously. If you are a stylist then your own hair is your business card, go for the longest, most luxurious business card you can find.

Lolita is a stylist. As is…

…Katrina, who is their newest and friendliest stylist, you?ll learn. Least friendly stylist, or, perhaps, least friendly human being is:

He loves to cut both hair and people.
We begin with a tiny bit of background info. We learn that Lolita ?swung on something, but it wasn?t a pole? over the weekend. Katrina declares this TMI, but it?s definitely TLI.

What the hell did she swing on? “Pole” is already the dirtiest thing I can think of.
Elgin arrives… or rather, glides in.

But he finds that Sean is extremely late for the morning meeting. Sean interviews that he hates such meetings. Except he doesn?t interview as much as telegraph via his posture and flared nostrils. Meetings are first on a long, long list of things Sean doesn’t appreciate.

Add to that list: organization. Elgin demands that Sean get an assistant to help with appointments. Sean’s against it. He’s against it probably because everyone else is for it. We see the first of many annoyed-bored faces from Sean. And the first of many hilariously ornate objects in the Elgin salon.

Another need-to-know fact: Elgin sees his big clients on the classy side of his salon. Everyone else must work on the other side. Currently there?s a pole-dancing discussion going on inside one part of the salon. Guess which side it takes place in.
Lolita describes poll-dancing as her fantasy (although, as we learned earlier, she’s swinging on everything but a pole). She takes a break to picture this alternate reality.

What big-city girl doesn’t dream of moving to a small down and starting her poll-dancing career? The Elgin salon is also a training academy. From one profession that relies on tips to another:

I truly hope that she got a discount on her hair services. If not, surely that gentleman behind them helped out.
On the classy side, Elgin and his real estate agent meet to talk about a property available for his next salon. He clears his appointments for the day, but walk-ins… are going to walk in.

His receptionist informs Tanika Ray that Elgin ?doesn?t do fast, he does fabulous,? though I don?t know where those things became mutually exclusive. Certainly not at Chipotle.
She begs Elgin, who relents. Reluctantly.

Meanwhile Sean has goes shopping before his double-booked appointments, and when he returns there?s a line of potential assistants waiting to meet him.

Sean declares all the job applicants ?idiots and incapable of assisting me.?
In other emergencies, Tanika wants sleek, but full, but asymmetrical but chic. She needs a miracle, so we need a montage:



And a dictionary, too.
Meanwhile, Sean is finding time to torture his potential assistants while doing hair.For example, he takes aside this girl to tell her she is ?reading material from cover to cover.? She is a novel called Too Much Cleavage for Beverly Hills, and this novel is clearly fiction, because there’s never too much cleavage for Beverly Hills, despite what Sean says.

Another girl gets kicked out for bringing her mother to her job interview. The final assistant candidate comes with a ridiculous amount of loyalty — she’s somewhere between a stylist and a security guard and a stalker.

Basically, she would have to protect Sean from her. She gets fired for saying she is just as fabulous as Sean, eh, I buy this reason.
Elgin races to the property, but his agent calls to say it’s been snatched up. He turns around and returns to the salon, catching his staff off guard. He finds:
Sean at his station, and Katrina getting her hair done at his station (these are related):

… and food everywhere.

The not-classy side has taken over the classy side. Elgin wants an update on the assistant situation, and Sean tells him ?they were all the worst candidates for the job.? This is semantically impossible, but after seeing their faces…


…it somehow makes sense that each one was the worst one.
The rest of Sean and Elgin’s meeting is a fury of hands and heads.



Sean goes back to his side, declares Rick James back from the dead, and does an Elgin impression for the ladies.

Doing Elgin impressions is actually how Sean stays so slim.
When they get ready to close shop, Elgin apologizes to his staff, nice boss that he is. He says the stress of losing the property made him snap at his employees. Sean feels bad that he made Elgin?s day worse, so he stays to clean up the station he dirtied up.

Syreeta shows up, uninvited…

…and looking uninviting. Sean keeps her at broom?s distance and threatens to hit her, warning that he?s not ?beneath? cracking her head. “Beneath,” above, whatever. The point is, he’s now wielding a broom as a weapon.

Sean considers this psychotic behavior, but from one psycho to another, he sees some potential in her. Sean lets her come back for a trial run. But he also makes a prediction.

God, I hope so! This show needs a weirdo.
This episode?s hair tips:
If you bleach or color your hair, use protein packs and sit under a dryer for 15 minutes. Bonus tip from me: Blood contains even more protein than those packs, and is a lot cheaper.
?You are what you eat? so: eat green leafy vegetables full of iron, silica and calcium. Bonus tip from me: ?You are what you eat? so eat unicorns.

The movie co-stars Carla Gugino, Ophelia Lovibond, Philip Baker Hall, Andrew Stewart-Jones, James Tupper, Clark Gregg, David Krumholtz and Angela Lansbury.

For me, Jim Carrey movies are begining to become a subgenre of wacky family comedies, and all of them feel the same. Mr. Popper?s Penguins seems no different. And yes, the trailer even includes a catchy pop song from pop culture past. Seems like the fulfilled the formula to the T. That said, I'll probably still see the movie, if not in the theaters then on video, just for the penguins alone (even if they are partly CG). Hit the jump to watch the teaser trailer. Plot Synopsis:

Howard Stern Sues Sirius

He typically makes the news because of his big mouth, but today (March 22) Howard Stern is making headlines thanks to a lawsuit with Sirius Satellite Radio. The Hollywood Reporter tells that the comedian?s company, One Twelve, Inc., and his agent Don Buchwarld are pressing charges against Sirius XM for stiffing Stern on promised stock. According to the plaintiff, ?In 2004, when Sirius desperately needed Stern to make its business viable, it induced him to move to Sirius by offering him a chance to share in the success of the company. Now that Stern has put the company on the map, brought in millions of subscribers, and helped it conquer its chief rival, Sirius has unilaterally decided that Stern has been paid enough. The amounts owed to One Twelve and Buchwald represent a fraction of the revenue that Stern enabled Sirius to achieve, yet Sirius refuses to honor its commitments to him and Buchwald." Stern is going after Sirius for breach of contract, money owed to him plus the interest accrued.
